PRACTICE AREAS: Divorce, Domestic Relations, Family Law, Matrimonial Law
David Kirsh is a highly accomplished attorney with nearly three decades of experience in all aspects of domestic relations and matrimonial law, including dispute resolution and litigation.
Mr. Kirsh concentrates his practice on divorce, child support, child custody, and prenuptial agreements. Mr. Kirsh draws on his extensive skills in negotiation, personal relationships, finance, litigation and appeals to help his clients achieve their objectives.
While he emphasizes settlement when possible, he recognizes that the option to litigate is a strong tool in arriving at a positive outcome. When litigation is necessary, he is a forceful advocate for his clients’ interests. Over the course of his career and hundreds of evidentiary hearings and trials he has only received two awards for less than his settlement offer, one of which was reversed on appeal in his client’s favor.
Mr. Kirsh began his legal practice at Kirsh, Nadler, and Berman in 1980. In 1985, he opened his own firm, Kirsh & Eichner, then joined Kalcheim, Schatz & Berger in 1988. After moving to Colorado in 1993, he launched one of the premier domestic relations practices in the state. In 2009, he returned to the Chicago area and re-joined Berger Schatz as a partner.
Mr. Kirsh has been a member of a number of national and state bar associations, and has served on various committees for each of these organizations. Over the course of his legal career, he has also contributed hundreds of hours of service on behalf of pro bono clients.
