Eric J. Schwab represents clients in all areas of family and matrimonial law, dispute resolution and litigation. Before joining Berger Schatz, Mr. Schwab practiced commercial litigation at Jenner & Block LLP.
Mr. Schwab earned his J.D. from the University of Chicago in 2007. During law school, Mr. Schwab served as a student attorney in the MacArthur Justice Clinic and in the Mandel Legal Aid Clinic Project on Civil Rights and Police Accountability, and as a law clerk in the Office of the Cook County Public Defender, Felony Division.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Schwab was an assistant professor of Germanics at Yale University from 1998 until 2004. He earned his Ph.D. in Germanic Languages & Literature from Yale University in 1998. In 1997, Mr. Schwab was a DAAD fellow in Comparative Literature at the Freie Universität in Berlin, Germany. Mr. Schwab graduated cum laude from Yale College in 1986, receiving a B.A. in Philosophy.
Mr. Schwab is a member of the Illinois Bar and is also admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
