Myra A. Foutris represents clients in all areas of family law.
Prior to joining Berger Schatz in 2006, Ms. Foutris practiced at the law firm of Sachnoff & Weaver, Ltd. in Chicago, where she practiced complex commercial and securities litigation. After earning her law degree, she served as judicial clerk in the District of Columbia Court of Appeals in Washington, D.C. While in law school, Ms. Foutris was a member of the Loyola Law Journal and served as the features editor for the Public Interest Law Reporter. She was recently appointed to the Human Relations Commission for the Village of Lincolnwood.
Ms. Foutris is a member of the American Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. She was chosen to the list of Rising Stars by Illinois Super Lawyers from 2010-2014. Ms. Foutris has been named to the peer-recommended Leading Lawyers network every year since 2013 and was included in the 2015 Leading Lawyers list of Top 100 Women Attorneys in Illinois.
In 2017, Ms. Foutris was part of the Berger Schatz team that won a significant victory before the Illinois Supreme Court, obtaining a ruling that clarified the legal standard for attorney’s fee awards in matrimonial cases (In re the Former Marriage of Heroy, March 23, 2016).
