Partner Brendan Hammer shared his extensive experience in conducting online evidentiary hearings and trials as a panelist in the MCLE credited webinar “Tips and Warnings in Remote Evidentiary Hearings” hosted by the DuPage County Bar Association’s Civil Law & Practice Section on October 7.
Brendan, alongside a panel of judges and lawyers, discussed the range of challenges in remote litigation and methods to improve:
- awareness of the unique challenges presented in remote evidentiary settings
- effective use of technologies to facilitate remote litigation
- development of novel advocacy skills for remote settings like Zoom as opposed to the “physical” Court room
- personal appearance, voice, movement, and demonstrative presentations
