Kathleen McNamara focuses her practice on helping her clients navigate some of the most challenging and important issues in their lives with technical experience, a positive attitude, and an eye toward their long-term goals.
Kathleen’s experience in resolving the conflicts incident to divorce includes the valuation and division of complex assets, income tracing, spousal maintenance and child support, and high-conflict custody disputes, as well as negotiating and drafting premarital and postmarital agreements.
Kathleen believes that the possibility of alternative dispute resolution should always be explored before resorting to litigation, especially when children are involved. When litigation is unavoidable, Kathleen’s extensive litigation experience and comfort in the courtroom make her a formidable advocate.
Kathleen began practicing law in 2002 and spent the first six years of her career at Sidley Austin LLP, where she honed her litigation skills representing corporations and their directors and officers in securities-related litigation. Kathleen also spent a year as law clerk for the Honorable Harry D. Leinenweber of the Northern District of Illinois.
